Kindergarten Newsletter

Announcements

  • Parents, are you reading with your child every night?  A great way to improve your child’s vocabulary and learn to love reading is to read to him/her for 20 minutes each night!

  • Please be sure that your child completes all homework writing and drawing themselves.  We do not expect the children to write words perfectly at this stage in kindergarten.  We want them to stretch the words out and write all the sounds they hear.  Their best phonetic spelling is great!  Please encourage your children to try!

  • You can reinforce what we are learning in school in math with your child at home by having him or her count silverware, napkins, cups, cars, etc.

  • Picture day was last Wednesday.  If your child was absent, there will be a picture make-up day on October 29th.

  • The Book Fair is coming on October 10th!  Please look out for more information on this coming soon!

  • A packet went home last week about the Claire’s Gourmet Fundraiser.  If you and your child want to participate, please have orders and money back to school by October 13th.
